‘Kuseladu’ Set: The Festival Mood

The entire atmosphere was brimming with enthusiasm. The occasion was the shooting of ‘Kuseladu’ in Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad. The shooting witnessed a horde of stars including Superstar Rajinikanth, Nayantara, Mamta Mohandas, and Sneha. The environment of the shooting spot, according to an insider, was just like a festival. The entire set was turned out to be a place of celebration, informs the source.

The bilingual project being made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil has many leading stars acting in the film. Apart from the lead pairs (Rajini-Nayantara and Jagapathy Babu-Meena), Prabhu, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Vadivelu don important roles in the film. Pasupathy plays the role of Jagapathy Babu in Tamil version.

Banu, who looked after the make up for Rajini in ‘Sivaji’, is entrusted with the same responsibility in ‘Kuseladu’. So we can expect the slick and special look of Rajini in ‘Kuseladu’ too. The sources say that Nayantara, who sizzled with her sexy and stylish appearance in ‘Billa’, will repeat the same in ‘Kuseladu’ as well.

On the sidelights, Superstar was quite upset on the day when his friend and co-actor Raghuvaran died. He was not able to visit Raghuvaran’s house to pay the homage, as he was caught in a busy schedule.

The shooting will soon shift to the picturesque locales of Pollachi.

Rajini to co-star Nayanatara and Tabu

Rajinikant’s film for his mentor K Balachander will have two heroines.

While Nayanatara is said to be playing one of the lead heroines, it is now been confirmed that Tabu will be playing the other heroine.

Though Rajinikant shares screen time with Jagapati Babu, who will have an equally important role in the film, he has agreed to do it for Balachander and because he liked the Malayalam original starring Mammotty.

Rajini takes a break to Himalayan Mountains

Rajinikanth, after the tremendous success of Sivaji and the announcement of his twin projects is off to Himalayas to rejuvenate himself. It is a general practice of this spiritually inclined actor to take time off his busy schedule to visit different holy places.

This time around, after accepting the Entertainer Award of 2007 from NDTV at Delhi, he has proceeded to the Himalayan Mountains on a pilgrimage tour.

Rajini Kanth will dub his own voice for his animated character in Sulatan, but it would be only for Tamil.

The coveted NDTV Indian of the Year awards were announced at a glittering function held at Taj Palace, New Delhi. The function was attended by dignitaries, celebrities and other prominent personalities.

Name change for Robot?

Director Shankar while talking about the film Robot in an interview given to a TV channel has said that the title of the movie might change.

The buzz is that the State Government’s decision to provide tax-exemption to movies titled in Tamil is the reason that this name change might come through. The Tamil film producers and directors are these days found with Tamil dictionary to choose Tamil titles for their films to avail this concession.

On a 100 crore budget, Robot movie will definitely need the entertainment tax-exemption. There was also a debate over the title of Shivaji, if it was a Tamil name or not. Even with the debate that Shivaji was a Marathi name, the State government accepted that Shivaji is a Tamil title indeed, and the movie was exempted from entertainment tax. This might not work out for Robot, or will they add Robot to Tamil dictionary as well and provide entertainment tax exemption? Only time can tell!!

The meaning of Robot would be “mechanical servant”. So what would the name of Robot movie be after the name change? Any suggestions?

Rajini- Kucheludu of Aswini Dutt

Rajini’s next venture, Telugu/Tamil remake of the latest Malayalam blockbuster Kadhaparayumbol, is officially announced in a press meet held in Chennai on January 15, 2008 at the Taj Coramendal Hotel.

K Balachander is producing Tamil Version of the film and Aswini Dutt is producing Telugu version. The film is likely to be titled as ‘Kucheludu’.

Addressing media persons, Aswini Dutt stated that Rajnikanth would play the part of Mamooty in the Telugu/Tamil remake. Speaking on the occasion, P. Vasu mentioned that the movie would be regionalized to suit the likes of Telugu/Tamil audiences. He also cited that Rajni’s part for the movie would be extensive as opposed to Mamooty’s in the original.

Rajini gearing up for his next film

Super star Rajinikanth is one actor whose piety is known to one and all. He always makes it a point to visit a holy shrine which is most often Tirupathi. He did so before the start of his earlier film Sivaji and also before its release.

His visit has paid him due dividends and in a similar fashion, the actor paid a visit to the holy shrine last evening at 7 pm and returned after seeking divine blessings at 8:15 pm. On hearing his presence at the shrine crowds had gathered outside and the star was at his candid best as he waved out to them before he sped away in his car.

Now with news that the actor is to do a quickie for director Balachander’s Kavithalaya these activities of Rajini clearly indicate that he is gearing up for his next. That should put to rest all rumor mills which were construing their own versions of his future moves.
