Ravi Teja has many reasons to celebrate this year. His first film for the year – Krishna – is the only film that has got positive reviews among the Sankranti releases and is doing well.

He has back with his pal and mentor Puri Jagannath and they have just announced a film called Ne Ninte. They will be producing and Ravi Teja would be assisting Puri in direction soon.

He has also formally confirmed that he would be turning a director next year. Also, we hear his popularity has risen among his female fans. What else can he ask for?

IG wishes him more success and many more happy returns of the day.

It being the Republic Day, we hear he will be having a rather low key birthday today. But he has been busy with fans and well-wishers from the industry wishing him since morning.

Raviteja’s Krishna collects Rs17.88 Crores in two weeks.

Ravi Teja’s Krishna – the power of Indrakeeladri is really showing its power at the box office. The film has collected Rs.17.88 Crores in just two weeks run. The film is directed by VV Vinayak. Trisha is the heroine. Chakri is the music director. Kasi Viswanth and Dhanaiah have jointly produced the film.

‘Krishna’ leads Sankranti race in Telugu cinema

Hyderabad, Jan 23 (IANS) New films have made their way into the Telugu list this fortnight. Three of them were released during the Makar Sankranti festival.

The top five Telugu films are:

1. “Krishna” - This, perhaps, is the most successful of the Sankranti releases. Ravi Teja and Trisha star in the film, which seems to be doing well in terms of audiences and revenues. Director V.V. Vinayak chose a rather stereotypical story, but Ravi Teja ably carries it on his shoulders.

2. “Vaana” - A Telugu remake of the Kannada blockbuster “Mungaaru Malle”, the film is directed by M.S. Raju. It is technically sound with melodious music, good camera work by Sekhar V. Joseph and some good locales. Lead pair Vinay and Meera Chopra do not create any magic, although the hero makes some effort to do so. Somehow, the movie is disappointing. Nevertheless, it is drawing families and is doing average business.

3. “Anasuya” - Bhumika Chawla steals the show in the title role. Playing a TV journo, Bhumika displays good acting skills. She portrays the right kind of emotions in the film. Ravi Babu, who is also the director, looks good as the villain. This ‘edge-of-the-seat’ ‘noir’-like thriller has got critical acclaim - the film is technically slick albeit a bit dark in terms of lighting and is faring well.

4. “Mantra” - The whodunit film starring Charmee and Sivaji is faring well as far as revenues go. Suspense thrillers and murder-mysteries are not common in the Telugu film industry and “Mantra” and “Anasuya” have shown that this genre goes down well with the audience if the film is made well.

5. “Pourudu” - Sumanth is back in action with the film. Although he does a good job, the story is a down-to-death one. The film is faring fairly well.

Ravi Teja’s next film rolls from 1st February

Ravi Teja’s next film rolls from 1st February.

Ravi Teja is the happy man with the success of his movie Krishna. and he is getting ready for his next film for Suresh Productions. Suresh Babu is producing the film in the direction of Udayshankar who directed films like Kalisundam Raa and Preminchukundam Raa with Venkatesh.

Anushka is paired up opposite Ravi Teja and this is the second film in this combination after successful Vikramarkudu with SS Rajamouli.

KM Radha Krishnan (Chandamama fame) is composing the music and the film is scheduled for Dasara release.

Muthyala Subbaiah and Sivaji film titled ‘Aalayam’.

Senior director Muthyala Subbaiah is directing a film Aalayam on  Trend set film banner. Sivaji and Honeyraj are leading the show. The film’s shoot is progressing in Hyderabad and the producer R Anoop Chakravarthy is planning to release the film in April.

Gopichand’s Ontari Music on 21st January.

Pokuri Babu Rao is making the film Ontari with Gopichand in the title role. Bhavana is the heroine and BV Ramana is directing the film. The post-production work is in progress. The music of the film will sound on 21st January and the film is planned to release on 9th February.

Ravi Teja to turn director

Hero Ravi Teja’s Krishna -the power of Indrakeeladri is doing well at the box office and Ravi attributes  the entire credit to director VV Vinayak.

Ravi Teja’s next film would be launched on 16th January. Suresh Productions banner is making the film. Uday Shankar is the director. Anushka is the heroine.

Ravi Teja will do a film for Poori Jagan from June 2008. After completing this film, Ravi plans to direct a film.

Hero Raviteja watched Okka Magadu

Hero Ravi Teja watched Balakrishna’s Okka Magadu today in Hyderabad. He watched morning show and came out of the theatre with smiling face. What might be the reason for Raviteja’s smile? - Remember his film Krishna- the power of Indrakeeladri is releasing tomorrow.

Some industry people say ‘The out come of Okka Magadu will have some impact on Raviteja’s Krishna at the Box office’.

Any way we can’t judge anything about the fate of Okka Magadu at this point of time.

Krishna to release with U/A certificate

VV Vinayak says that his film Krishna- the power IndraKeeladri is romantic entertainer and the film is releasing on 12th January. Trisha and Raviteja are leading the show. Trisha is going to entertain audiences with her skin show for the first time.

The film gets U/A certificate from Censor Board. Siri media releasing the film in AP. Siri media has bagged the distribution rights for Rs14 Crs.

The film is releasing with good pre-release talk.
